Now one of the most controversial directors is going to make a movie about the experiences of American whistleblower Edward Snowden – a contractor at the U-S National Security Agency who leaked thousands of classified documents a year ago.
67-year old Oliver Stone plans to adapt ”The Snowden Files: The Inside Story of the World’s Most Wanted Man,” a book by journalist Luke Harding.
Stone calls the tale, ”one of the greatest stories of our time.”
The film’s due to start shooting before the end of the year.
Just last month, Sony Pictures bought the big screen rights to Glenn Greenwald’s ”No Place to Hide: Edward Snowden, the NSA and the U.S. Surveillance State.”
