MANUFACTURING DIPS IN APRIL

Another indicator this morning of the challenges facing Kathleen Wynne and her new government.

Statistics Canada says manufacturing sales edged down 0.1 per cent in April to $50.9 billion.

It’s the first decrease in four months. Manufacturing is a key component of the Ontario economy.

Economists had expected a gain of 0.4 per cent.
