A survey conducted by the Alzheimer’s Association in Canada and a dozen others nations, demonstrates how misunderstood the disease is. The study suggests 59 per cent of people incorrectly believe that the disease is a typical part of aging, 40 per cent believe that Alzheimer’s is not fatal and 37 per cent incorrectly believe that you have to have a family history to be at risk for Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s is a fatal, progressive disease that impacts 44 million people worldwide.
