The strike by Durham Region’s inside workers will continue after 52% voted to reject management’s latest revised offer.
Around 1,600 employees have been out since Thursday morning.
The union local says it hopes the region will acknowledge workers demands and return to the bargaining table.
Paramedics are part of CUPE Local 1764 but are required to remain on the job as their services are deemed essential.
Six of the region’s seven child care centres will stay closed during the walkout.
Some health department services will also not be available.
