Now that the trial is over, Britain’s National Theatre is going to mount a satire inspired by the phone-hacking scandal.

The play is titled ” Great Britain.”

It’s all fiction – but the story recalls the scandal over wrongdoing at Rupert Murdoch’s now-defunct “News of the World” tabloid.

“Great Britain” opens Monday and was written by Richard Bean – the author of the hit farce “One Man, Two Guvnors.”

The cast has been rehearsing without knowing exactly when opening night would come – as they awaited the verdicts in the trial of ex-editors Rebekah Brooks and Andy Coulson.

That came Tuesday with an acquittal for Brooks and a conviction for Coulson.
