Saying it’s a natural evolution, WestJet’s announced it’s going to start flying wide-body planes next year.
The Calgary-based carrier says it’s looking to expand its overseas operations.
Right now those consist of flights to Dublin from St. John’s, which began last month and seasonal flights between Alberta and Hawaii.
Plans call for WestJet to operate four wide-bodied planes on the Hawaii routes late next year.
Details about the wide-bodied schedule for the summer of 2016 will be made later.
The move to wide bodied aircraft would enable the airline to offer international service from other Canadian cities like Toronto.
