The Federal Aviation Administration has extended its ban on U.S. airlines’ flights to and from Tel Aviv, for another 24 hours.
The FAA now says the ban runs through 12:15 p.m. Eastern time – Thursday.
Yesterday the FAA barred U.S. airlines from flying into – or out of – Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport airport for 24 hours: due to Hamas rocket fire from neighboring Gaza.
An El Al flight arrived at Pearson International Airport this morning from Tel Aviv. Some passengers said several rockets have landed near the airport in Tel Aviv in recent years, and they don’t understand why international carriers are suddenly concerned.
