Canadian swimmer Ryan Cochrane has won his second gold medal at the Commonwealth Games – with a powerful performance in the men’s 1,500 metres.
Cochrane also took the men’s 400-metre freestyle – on the first day of competition and was the defending Commonwealth Games champion in both events – before defending his gold medals in Scotland.
It’s been Canada’s most successful day at the Commonwealth Games so far. In addition to Cochrane’s gold in the pool, Damian Warner won the decathlon title.
Erica Wiebe and Korey Jarvis each won gold in wrestling, while Catharine Prendrel took the women’s mountain bike race – and Marie-Eve Beauchemin-Nadeau won weightlifting gold.
Australia leads the pack, followed by England in 2nd place – with Scotland 3rd – and Canada ranks 4th.
