The man of steel has turned solid-gold on an e-bay auction.

A copy of Superman’s comic-book debut has sold for an astronomical price: $3.2 million.

New York comic dealers Vincent Zurzolo and Stephen Fishler submitted Sunday’s bid in the eBay auction.

It was for a near flawless copy of  “Action Comics No. 1.”  That’s the 1938 comic in which the superhero first appeared.

The $3.2 million is believed to be the highest price ever paid for a comic book.

Fishler and Zurzolo own ComicConnect.com – which auctioned a high-quality copy of the book in 2011, for a then-record $2.1 million.

The seller is Darren Adams – a collectibles dealer in Federal Way, Washington.

Only About 100 copies are believed to exist.

Fishler says the opportunity was too good to miss.
