A new poll on the Toronto campaign for mayor shows a tight race between John Tory and Rob Ford.

The Forum Research poll shows Tory in the lead with 34 per cent. Ford has picked up six points to close the gap at 31 per cent. Olivia Chow’s support continues to fall. She’s at 23 per cent.

It’s Ford’s highest showing in more than four months.

The telephone survey was taken Monday and Tuesday. It’s the first survey since Karen Stintz dropped out of the race. Some of her supporters migrated to Tory, but more appear to have moved into the Ford camp.

David Socknaki continues to trail at four per cent. Seven per cent are undecided.

In a three-way race, Tory improves to 36 per cent, Ford stays at 31, and Chow improves to 26.
