Toronto City Council adjourned Thursday for the final time this term. Much of yesterday’s session was devoted to thanking councillors who won’t be returning. Among those not running again are Councillor Doug Ford and Councillor Karen Stintz, who dropped out of the mayor’s race last week and announced she will leave politics. In a surprise announcement, Councillor Gloria Lindsay Luby said that after nearly 30-years in public office, she will not be running for re-election and former budget chief, Councillor Mike Del Grande who confirmed he won’t be seeking re-election either. The new council and mayor will be elected October 27th.
