The literary awards season heats up tonight – in our home and native land.
We’ll discover which authors have been named winners of The Writers’ Trust of Canada Awards.
Six literary prizes will be handed out at a ceremony in Toronto – including the $25,000 Rogers Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize.
Finalists include Toronto-based Miriam Toews, who last won in 2008.
The other fiction finalists are: previous nominee Andre Alexis – and first timers Carrie Snyder, Steven Galloway and K.D. Miller.
Tonight’s award ceremony will be followed by the Scotiabank Giller Prize next week – and the Governor General’s Literary Awards on November 18th.
