Lung Cancer Canada says people are continuing to die from lung cancer because of a lack of comprehensive screening programs. Lung Cancer is Canada’s number one killer of both men and women but there are no provincial or national screening programs for early detection. Lung Cancer Canada says screening could save as many as 1,200 lives each year. When it comes to fund raising to support research, the organization says dollars designated for lung cancer research represent less than 1 per cent of all private cancer donations.
