People living at some 24,000 Oakville addresses will be walking to the community mail box today as Canada Post ends home delivery in the town. Oakville is one of 11 communities where the post office is switching from home delivery to community boxes. This is the first phase of a five year plan that will impact some 5 million addresses across the country. Receiving your mail at community mail boxes is nothing new for millions of other Canadians. The Post Office began installing the boxes in new subdivisions back in the 90’s.
