A windy way to start the week.
Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for Toronto – the GTA – and areas across southern Ontario.
Strong winds ahead of a sharp Arctic cold-front will be with us this afternoon and evening.
There’s a prediction of sustained wind speeds of 60 to 70 km/h – with frequent gusts of 90 to 100 km/h in some areas.
These winds will be strong enough to cause some tree damage, with a few power outages possible as a result and some difficult driving conditions, especially on highways exposed to strong cross-winds.
After today’s balmy weather, winter conditions will return quickly tonight with temperatures in the wake of the front falling to around freezing overnight.
