Toronto’s former mayor wants his job back.
Rob Ford says he is already planning his campaign for mayor in 2018. But it’s all dependent on him successfully beating cancer.
Ford was diagnosed with a rare abdominal tumour in September. He will begin a fifth round of chemotherapy on Monday. The Ward 2 Councillor says it puts him out of commission for about two weeks: the treatment itself takes a week; then he needs a week at home in bed to recover.
Mayor John Tory says he wishes Ford well in his recovery. But he’s not concerned about possible competition from his predecessor in 2018. He says he’s too busy to think about a campaign that is still four years away.
