There will be good news delivered at the Daily Bread Food Bank this afternoon! Executive Director Gail Nyberg will announce that donors have helped beat the goal of $2.5 million for the Holiday Drive. In fact, it was a generous $200,000 donation from an anonymous donor on the last day of the drive that helped push the Daily Bread toward the $2.5 million mark. Food donations remained low ahead of the weekend with only 630,000 pounds of food raised; a shortfall of 350,000 pounds of food. Trucks were out doing final pick ups of donations at grocery stores and fire halls on Saturday and Sunday. The Holiday Drive began at the end of November and officially ended on December 31st.
