Senior RCMP officials confirm that a Mountie, shot in the head in Alberta on the weekend, is not expected to survive. Deputy Commissioner Marianne Ryan, the commanding officer of the RCMP in Alberta, says Constable David Wynn has yet to regain consciousness. Wynn and Auxiliary Constable Derek Bond were wounded at a casino outside of Edmonton as they investigated a stolen car. Bond was treated and released from hospital. Police later found the body of a suspect, identified as Shawn Maxwell Rehn, 34, in a house not far from casino. An autopsy is scheduled to determine Rehn’s cause of death.
