1960's CELEBRITY PRODUCER AND MANAGER STAN IRWIN DIES IN L.A. AT 94

He was best known as a Las Vegas producer and manager of well known celebrities including Johnny Carson.

Stan Irwin has died at the age of 94.

Irwin’s friend and business partner George Michaud says Irwin died on Wednesday of natural causes in Los Angeles.

Stan Irwin also guided the careers of  Don Rickles, Buddy Hackett and Pearl Bailey. He was credited for bringing artists such as Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Marlene Dietrich, Canadian born Paul Anka (who wrote The Tonight Show theme), Bobby Darin, Brenda Lee, Bob Newhart and the Beatles to perform in Las Vegas.

Irwin also served as executive producer of The Tonight Show in 1962, which was the first year Carson was host. He did some performing of his own as the voice of the Lou Costello character in Hanna-Barbera’s The Abbott and Costello Cartoon Show in the 1960s.
