Today is the day the public gets to have its say on the new City of Toronto budget.  Deputations will be heard on the proposed 2.25% increase in property taxes that will rise another .5% which is allocated for construction of the Scarborough Subway.  Mayor John Tory is proposing $75 million dollars in new spending to help the TTC and homeless shelters. The city has to make up $86 million in lost housing support-spending by the province.
