The Toronto District School Board meets Tuesday night with the closure of up to 60 underutilized schools on the agenda. Trustees have a provincially mandated deadline of Friday to decide what to do. A report from the Elementary Teachers of Toronto says The majority of the schools being looked at are elementary schools and most of them are in the city’s poorest neighbourhoods. On top of that, reports suggest many of the schools will see an increase in population over the next twenty years.
