It’s another c-c-colder than c-c-cold day: but take heart. By noon tomorrow temperatures will be into the minus single digits.
Sure, that’s still cold – but nowhere near the bitter chill of the past few days – and most of this month.
Despite today’s brilliant sunshine the predicted high of -10 will feel more like -20 and even worse with the wind chill – as the breeze picks up to 20 km/h later into the day and the evening.
The city is under another extreme cold weather alert – bringing our total days of punishingly cold weather to 34 this year.
And the sun will be back to bid farewell to February on Saturday – with a predicted high of -6.
At this point it looks like March will come in like a lion – but a relatively tame one bringing more benign temperatures and a 60 percent chance of snow on Sunday with a high of -4.
That’s almost warm enough to start dreaming of packing in the parka – and pulling out Spring’s short sleeved shirts.
