Holocaust Remembrance Day will be honoured today by celebrities, including Kathleen Turner and Ellen Burstyn, when they read a number of plays in New York City.

The first ever Remembrance Readings program will connect numerous theatre groups across the U.S., including The Old Globe in San Diego, The Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago, the Theatrical Outfit in Atlanta, and the Untitled Theater Company 61 of Washington, D.C.

The plays to be read include The History of Invulnerability by David Bar Katz, The Revisionist by Jesse Eisenberg, and The Soap Myth by Jeff Cohen.

The event, launched by the National Jewish Theater Foundation, will draw upon the over 600 plays in their newly created Holocaust Theater Catalog at the University of Miami, the first comprehensive archive of theatre materials related to the Holocaust.
