A book on the late Mike Nichols is in the works.

Penguin Press has reached a deal with Mark Harris – the author of the acclaimed film history “Pictures at a Revolution.”

The new book “Mike Nichols; A Biography,” has the support of journalist Diane Sawyer – who is Nichols’ widow.

Nichols was one of the most honoured film and stage directors of his time.

He died last fall at age 83.

Harris interviewed Nichols several years earlier for “Pictures At a Revolution,” which is a comprehensive take on five major movies of 1967 – including Nichols’ “The Graduate.”
