Owners of vehicles in Canada now know how many and which models of vehicles are affected by the expanded recall of faulty airbags.
Transport Canada says the recall affects models from BMW, Chrysler, Ford, GM, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Subaru and Toyota.
Most are from the 2001 to 2011 model years, although more recent Ford Mustangs are also affected.
The full list of vheicles included in the expanded recall can be found on Ottawa’s HealthCanadians.ca website. http://www.healthycanadians.gc.ca/recall-alert-rappel-avis/index-eng.php
A list of affected models in older recalls for the same issue can be found on Transport Canada’s website. https://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/motorvehiclesafety/safevehicles-defectinvestigations-1433.html
The Takata airbag recall began in 2008 over concerns that they can explode.
American regulators say six have been killed and over 100 injured due to the proble, though Transport Canada has no reports of deaths or injuries here.
