Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement advising of significant amounts of rainfall this weekend. The weather office says a low pressure system will arrive early tomorrow, spreading spread rain across Southern Ontario. The weather office says in many areas the rain will continue through Sunday afternoon and may be heavy at times. This system is also bringing the risk of isolated thunderstorms. We expect significant amounts of rain in the 30 to 60 millimetre range (around 2 inches), with lesser amounts are expected over Central and Eastern Ontario. in addition, easterly winds are expected to develop Saturday with gusts generally in the 50 to 70 km/h range with the strongest along Lake Ontario and Lake Erie.
