Police in Athens say about 25-thousand people gathered today for a rally supporting a “no” vote in Sunday’s referendum.

The issue is the question of whether to accept more cuts and higher taxes – in exchange for a new bailout.

At a nearby stadium, about 17-thousand people gathered outside for a “yes” rally.

A five-year bailout program that has kept the country afloat – expired earlier this week.
