Toronto council has voted en masse to review Uber and taxi regulations – and will have a hard look at the rules that would bring Uber vehicles and taxi-cabs under the same by-laws.

Earlier this afternoon council approved expanded gambling at the Woodbine racetrack by a vote of 25-19.

Mayor John Tory backed the proposal – saying the expansion would bring much needed employment to the area.

A staff report suggested adding 2-thousand slot machines and 300 table games – which would mean between 12-and-a-half and 19-and-a-half million more dollars in revenue, respectively.

That would be in addition to the 15-million the city already gets every year from the facility.
