Members of the United Nations Security Council are expected today to endorse the landmark nuclear deal between Iran and six world powers.  The move will include adopting a series of measures leading to the end of U.N. sanctions that have hurt the Iranian economy.

The vote is set for this morning, ahead of the afternoon meeting of European Union foreign ministers in Brussels.

Israel’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he doesn’t think the nuclear agreement negotiated with Iran  will change that country’s outlook or behaviour.  He made the comments while criticizing what he calls an “aggressive and confrontational speech” by Iran’s supreme leader.

“Ayatollah Khamenei, the ruler of Iran, the dictator in Tehran, is saying that he’s going to continue his battle against the United States and his worldwide terrorism.  I think we shouldn’t give them a reward,” Netanyahu explained.

Netanyahu has been among the fiercest critics of the nuclear agreement reached with Iran last week.
