The union that represent public elementary teachers in the province says it’ll step up its work-to rule campaign in the ”coming days” if the province does not return to the bargaining table.
ETFO President Sam Hammond said Monday the teachers are prepared to move to phase three should negotiations not resume as soon as possible.
They broke off last Friday and no further talks are scheduled.
”We need them (the government and Ontario Public School Boards Association) to come back so we can work on behalf of students and parents to get a deal done. Make no mistake about it though. If that doesn’t happen soon we will indeed escalate our work-to-rule strike action.”
No word on what additional measure they may take.
Currently, they are not participating in administrative duties, professional learning activities or booking field trips.
