A Harper cabinet minister insists the federal government will soon release details – on how it plans to speed up the arrival of 20-thousand Iraqi and Syrian refugees.

Defense Minister Jason Kenney also defended the government’s response – amid calls for it to act more swiftly and take in more people.

Kenney says the number must be “manageable” rather than “picking numbers out of a hat” as he says the Liberals and N-D-P are doing.

He says he isn’t suggesting that all or most of the people in refugee camps pose a security risk – but Kenney says it is “plainly evident that some do,” and it would be imprudent to pretend otherwise.
