Two Brits and two Americans are on the short list for this year’s Mann Booker Prize.
Pulitzer Prize winner Anne Tyler and fellow U.S. writer Hanya Yanagihara join the UK’s Tom McCarthly and Sunjeev Sahota on the list.
This year’s prize continues the policy of allowing all authors writing in English, regardless of nationality, to be considered.
The short listed authors each receive $4,000 and a specially bound edition of their book. The winner will receive a further cheque for more than $75,000.
The winner will be announced October 13th.
