If you wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, it appears there’s no real difference between antibacterial soap and regular soap.

Researchers in Korea looked at the results against 20 different strains of bacteria that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has determined can make you sick.

The FDA has said antibacterial product may need to be reformulated or re-labelled if they can’t prove they do in fact kill more bacteria than regular soap.

You can read about the study in the Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy.
