The union for the province’s elementary teachers will begin rotating, one-day strikes next month, unless the government and school boards return to bargaining and there’s progress – or a deal.
Starting Monday, teachers will also step up their current work-to-rule campaign, no longer updating classroom websites nor preparing fall progress report cards.
They will also not hold parent-teacher interviews unless the teacher identifies a concern.
Teachers will also dress in a ”solidarity colour” and wear union buttons, t-shirts or caps on what they’re calling ”Wynne Wednesdays,” which start next week.
Talks between the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario and government and school boards’ association broke off last Friday.
