Robinson Chirinos and Roughned Odor hit homers off Toronto’s ace pitcher David Price – to take the Texas Rangers into the win column as they opened their American League Division Series against the Toronto Blue Jays – with a 5-3 victory.

The return of playoff baseball to Toronto after a 22-year absence left Jays fans slumping – after they also saw sluggers Josh Donaldson and Jose Bautista leave the game with injuries.

But the team says both players will be in the lineup for Game 2 on Friday afternoon.

Bautista hit a solo home run for the Jays in the sixth.

Yovani Gallardo earned the win for the Rangers – and Price took the loss.

Toronto’s Marcus Stroman gets the start against the Rangers’ Cole Hamels on Friday at Rogers Centre.
