Toronto filmmaker Ann Shin and her documentary – could soon be up for an Academy Award.
Shin and her movie “My Enemy, My Brother” are among the 10 contenders on the shortlist – for the 2015 nominations from The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Shin is mentioned in the “short documentary” category for her film about two soldiers who fought against each other during the Iraq-Iran war – and by coincidence end up reunited in Canada 20 years later.
Of the 10 finalists in the category – five will be nominated for the awards – with the list to be announced in January.
