In a bombshell development, the Toronto Blue Jays are reportedly parting ways with Alex Anthopoulos, the man who is considered the architect of this year’s deep run into the playoffs.

The stunning franchise-altering departure comes with the looming arrival of Mark Shapiro who was hired in late August and takes over the reins as president and CEO Monday when Paul Beeston retires.   Anthopoulos’ contract expires Saturday.
