Alberta MP and former cabinet minister, Rona Ambrose, has declared she’s interested in the job.
Ambrose, whose held eight different cabinet positions the last nine years, believes a new, more respectful tone is what the Tories need.
She feels the interim leader will need a higher profile to compete with incoming Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The bilingual Ambrose says she has the energy to travel across the country to rally volunteers and to fundraise as the party prepares for the race to select Stephen Harper’s successor who will lead the Conservatives into the next election.
Ambrose joins Candice Bergen, Erin O’Toole, Diane Finley and Rob Nicholson in the interim leadership race.
