MR. MUSIC, ALLEN TOUSSAINT, DIES AT 77

New Orleans-born legend Allen Toussaint has died of a heart attack while on tour in Spain.

He had suffered an attack at his hotel after performing Monday night at Madrid’s Teatro Lara.
After he was resuscitated, Toussaint suffered a second, fatal heart attack en route to hospital.
He broke into the music business by his teens, his songs covered by many, including ”Working in the Coal Mine,” ”Mother-in-Law,” and ”Southern Nights.”
Among those to record his work, the Rolling Stones, Ringo Starr, Glen Campbell, the Band, Jerry Garcia, Bonnie Raitt.
Toussaint was induced into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 and was awarded a National Medal of the Arts in 2013.
