HINES MUSICAL TAPS ITS WAY TO NEW YORK

A show looking back at the life of Maurice Hines is making its way to New York.

”Maurice Hines:  Tappin’ Thru Life,” is a song and dance revue backed by the Diva Jazz Orchestra that will play New World Stages beginning December 23.
It’ll be directed by Jeff Calhoun.
In the musical, the 71-year-old Hines pays tribute to his late brother, Gregory and the performers who’s inspired him, including Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Lena Horne, Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra and others.

Hines starred in France For Coppola’s 1984 film ”The Cotton Club” and on Broadway in ”Eubie!” and ”Hot Feet.”
He also replaced his brother in ”Sophisticated Ladies.”
