Anti-racism groups spoke at Queen’s Park today.

The coalition of groups urged Ontarians to welcome the Syrian refugees headed to the province – and not make them scapegoats – after the terror attacks in Paris.

The groups included the Canadian Arab Federation and the African-Canadian Legal Clinic.

They’re raising concerns in the wake of an attack on a Muslim woman near a Toronto school – and a recent fire at a mosque in Peterborough.

Debbie Douglas is with The Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants.

She says, for months , her organization has been arranging housing for the thousands of refugees expected – units that range from dormitory rooms to low-cost motels.

Health Minister Eric Hoskins has said the province is also considering using recently decommissioned hospitals – as temporary housing for the refugees.
