A plan to overhaul health care in Ontario is in the works.
The government plan includes getting rid of home care, while restructuring primary care to improve patient access, with a focus on the expansion of the role played by the provinces Local Health Integration Networks.
Also on the agenda is the removal of Ontario’s 14 Community Care Access Centers (CCAC’s). Those are the public agencies who oversee the delivery of services including, nursing, physiotherapy, and personal care workers for the sick and elderly in their homes.
The proposal is expected to be made public in the next few weeks and will touch on all areas of health care.
