The Trudeau government has delayed the deadline – for approving a plan to bury nuclear waste near Lake Huron.
March 1st is the new deadline.
Initially, the government was supposed to decide by September – whether to give the go-ahead for the proposed deep geologic repository.
But the previous Conservative government pushed that back until December – after the election.

Critics argue it would be folly to bury the toxic waste close to the lake.
