Jazz great Wynton Marsalis is taking the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, which he leads, on its longest tour in nearly 15 years.
The Blue Engine International Tour is named after the Orchestra’s new record label. It kicks off in Paris February 4th and wraps up March 12th in Wellington, New Zealand.
The band will draw from a repertoire of more than 75 arrangements, including tunes by Thelonious Monk and Herbie Hancock. It will also include education programs that Marsalis hopes will afford a different experience to the audience attending every performance.
