W-H-O DECLARES ZIKA VIRUS GLOBAL EMERGENCY

The World Health Organization has announced the spread of the Zika virus in the Americas is an international emergency.

The agency made the declaration at an emergency meeting of independent experts in Geneva to assess the outbreak.
WHO estimates there could be as many as 4-million cases in the Americas in the next year.
The last such health emergency was declared for the Ebola outbreak in West Africa in 2014.
It killed over 11,000.
