It’s about to get very mild, as in 16 degrees above the seasonal norm for February 3rd in Toronto.

Environment Canada says the high temperature today is expected to reach 14 celcius, which would easily beat the February 3rd high temperature record set back in 1991 of 9.3 celcius. And with all the rain we received overnight, Toronto could also break a 61 year old rainfall record for this date.

History shows that February 3rd has also been very wintry in Toronto. The coldest February 3rd on record was (-25) degrees celcius in 1955, while the greatest snowfall was 17.5 centimetres in 1972. As for the most snow on the ground recorded on February 3rd, that was 38 centimetres in 1966.
