Toronto city council has voted to seek a second court injunction against Uber X – under the appropriate circumstances.

Mayor John Tory agrees with the city’s lawyers that the time to seek one – is when the city’s chances of winning improve.

Tory says, “Starting the month long process of persuing an injunction now, may for example delay dozens of ongoing charges before the courts and would also force city staff to stop working on new bylaws that are long overdue – that will create a regulatory framework that is fair to all parties.”

Tory adds that if new ground transportaton regulations are passed this year and Uber ”thumbs their nose” at them – that’s when the city will seek an injunction.
