This is World Cancer Day and the theme this year, is personal responsibility.

We’re being encouraged to say yes to a healthy life and no to this potentially deadly disease.

Zoomer Media’s Libby Znaimer is a two time cancer survivor and the spokesperson for Pancreatic Cancer Canada.

“Eat right, don’t smoke – that is number one – and drinking and other things in moderation…and also be aware, and recognize the signs and symptoms of cancer, so that if God forbid, something does happen, you can recognize it early. Get screened with the screening tests that are recommended and that is for breast, prostate and colon cancer, and support people who have cancer and support the research to end cancer,” Libby advises in an effort to reduce your personal risk of cancer.

The No Hair Selfie is among the initiatives for this year’s World Cancer Day. Many people are shaving their heads in solidarity with cancer patients who’ve lost their hair due to chemotherapy treatment.
