ONT BUDGET NEXT WEEK, O-R-P-P DELAYED A YEAR

On the first day back at Queen’s Park after a ten-week break, the government reveals the date it will deliver the budget.

In fact, Finance Minister Charles Sousa revealed it during a speech at the Empire Club in Toronto.
It’s February 25 – one week Thursday.
Sousa also announced that the new Ontario Retirement Pension Plan will be delayed a year – until January 2018.
The budget’s expected to include details on limited wine sales in grocery stores see the government firm up its plan to eliminate the $7.5-billion deficit in two years.
PC Leader Patrick Brown says his party will offer its suggestions for what should be in the budget next week.
NDP Leader Andrew Horwath is worried the government will continue to freeze hospital budgets and make additional cuts to health services.
She believes it should raise corporate income taxes.
