PENTATONIX WINS FOR BEST ARRANGEMENT, INSTRUMENTAL OR A CAPELLA

It was a big night for the a Capella group Pentatonix.

The group won its first Grammy Award at a ceremony held before the main event in Los Angeles Monday.

The band won for its arrangement of the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.

It was one of a number of instrumental, a Capella or Classical music acts that won Grammys this year.

In the category of Orchestral Performance, the winner was “Shostakovich: Under Stalin’s Shadow. Symphony No. 10.” Andris Nelson Conductor with the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

And in the category of best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance the award went to Blackbird Eighth, and its 2015 Album “Filament.”
